I have registered to play in the PokerStars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker!

Firstly, have registered for the Pokerstars blogger championship, played this last year, was good fun and won a 160gb Ipod!

Poker going quite well, have been playing on Ipoker a lot recently, Cryptologic is slowing going downhill with a lot of the skins leaving. I still play sometimes on there but not as often.

Ipoker seems to suit me better, they have some nice $4.5k and $6k GTD which are cheap to enter and with 10 min blinds don't go on all night. Anyway, if you are interested in signing up have a look at Duffs blog, http://www.duffspoker.blogspot.com/

Life is so very busy at the moment, up at 5 to do the horses, start work at 7.30pm, finish at 3.45pm, straight to the stables, do horses again and get home about 6! By the time I have eaten and showered I flop in front of the laptop for a few games of poker. Unfortunately the blog is one of the things that has suffered :(

Thought it was about time I updated the blog, especially as I was getting stick from a certain Mr Gatsby ;).

Been a quiet year really, poker ticking over but has not been spectacular, work and horses keeping me too busy to play as much as I got to last year.

Didn't manage to win a seat to the CPC, but I didn't enter a huge amount of the sats. With the package only being a cruise this year and no poker buy-ins it did not appeal as much to me. Last year I won the Main event package which I thought was a much better idea. Unfortunately they didn't run main event packages this year. Good luck though to all those going.

One very nice thing was the fact that I managed to win the Betfair forum live game in Birmingham. It's a big get together for one weekend where we play a team event on the Friday and a main event on the Saturday. Unfortunately I crashed and burned in the team event, I think I was the 1st or 2nd out from my table. Luckily the rest of the 'Flashmob' managed to get second for us and double our buy in. Wp guys!!

Main event on the Saturday and I was running good! 10k in starting chips and after a few hours play and the dinner break I was still hovering around the 10k mark. With the blinds shooting up quite steeply I needed to double up. First hand after the dinner break and I get 99 on the button and make a standard raise. Milton (flashmob teammate) re raises from the small blind. I think he could be re-stealing and with only 8k left I decide to stick them in. Milton calls (uh-oh) and flips over QQ, oh well, then flop x9x, turn a blank and a 9 on the river just to rub it in. Sry Milts.

After that double up I was still struggling for cards. I managed to nurse my stack to the Final table though, getting lucky a couple of times when stealing with less than premium hands :) Hit the Final Table as the short stack. A few hands in I get AQ, I push all in for about 26k (blinds 1k/2k), one guy calls and Variance pushes all in over the top, original caller then gets out of the way and I am up against JJ. Ace on the flop and I have trebled up. Get to four handed quite quickly. Get dealt KK utg, raise and guy next to act pushes all in. My kings hold up against his AJ and we are down to three. A couple of hands later I get dealt JJ in the big blind, guy on the button is all in, I call, he has AQ, my jacks hold and we are heads up :) I had a 3-1 chip lead over the other guy, lovely guy called Wayne who talked a lot! Chips went back and forth for a bit, I won a big pot when I hit a flush and a few hands later I get AsJs. Wayne pushes all in and I call. He has JJ, flop Xs J Xh turn is another spade and hit my runner runner flush on the river!

Was really chuffed to win it and had a fantastic weekend, just hope we can do it all again next year!!

Sorry again for lack of updates. So damn busy with horses and work just haven't had chance.

Poker going pretty well, managed 4 mtt wins which is nice and quite a few FT's. All have been in the smaller mtt's so grinding a profit but would like to hit a decent sized win. It is tough going when every other week you are working evenings, not playing as much as I would like.

CPC is a cruise this year and I am determined to qualify again. Had a fantastic time last year, meeting some lovely people and really want to go again this year. Never been on a cruise but sure it will be fun. Anyone reading this who has never been really needs to try and qualify, it is such a good trip.

Crypto not getting much better, mtt's are getting less and less players. More muppets as usual but I am determined to stick it out for the mo. Tried other sites but prefer Crypto.

Sorry for lack of updates, been really busy with work and the horses. Also, after a great start to the month I have been running awful again and boring reports of bad beats don't interest anyone!

Finding the multis really tough at the moment on Crypto. Seem to be more and more awful players. Also, there has been a real drop in the amount of players, maybe people have had enough.

Managed a profit of £911 for the month. Nice to show a profit but considering that by the 6th April I was £1500 up I know that I should have done better.

Hopefully things will be good in May.

Big shout once again to Ukgatsby who had a wonderful month in April creaming it off with a win in the £1500 added Super Series. For a low stakes player he does fantastically well.

Off to Badminton tomorrow to watch the cross country. Never been before and really looking forward to it.

Well, March was a dreadful month. Ended up at about -£600. Nothing going right for me at the tables, outdraw after outdraw.

Decided I needed to have a little break and didn't play for over a week. Came back to the tables Sunday and managed to qualify for the 40k for £12. I finished 29th for £280. After the terrible run I had it felt great to cash in an mtt!!

Monday I played the $20k alongside Dreamteam. Dreamteam was Omaha which is not my strongest game but I managed a 23rd for some ok points. Also managed to make the FT of the $20k. Unfortunately I got knocked out in 10th. Folded to me in the SB and I push with JT, BB decides that QJ is enough to call with and I'm gone.

Tuesday I was shattered. I start work at 7.30am and after a couple of late nights decided to leave the poker and have an early night.

Wednesday I played the $20k again and the 2k. Got knocked out of the 2k when my AA gets cracked by JT. Going great in the $20k though and make the FT again. This time I managed to get 4th for $1500. Over the moon with that, just wish that I could crack it one day.

Thursday I had another night off.

Last night I played the 1.5k, $20k and 2k. Was going great in all three and the first FT I hit was the 1.5k. We seemed to go from 10 on the FT to three in about 20 mins! Anyway I managed to win it for £474! Great confidence booster to nail one after my recent run and over the moon.
Unfortunately the other two mtt's suffered at the same time and I finished 22nd in the $20k which just covered my buy in.
In the 2k I managed to get back in it and made the FT. Totally card dead on the FT. With 5 left I make a stand in the BB with QJ to yet another button steal. He decides to call my all in with K4. I don't hit and I'm gone in 5th.

So in short, in one week I have gone from running like a Lada to making 4 FT's and getting a win. Just hope that it carries on in the same way.

Grand National today. Very tough betting race and most people are probably best off just using a pin. For me though, certain trends have to be taken notice of. No horse wins carrying more than 11st 1lb, must have won a chase over three miles, ran 4-6 times in the current season and to be between the ages of 8-12.

Very frustrating times!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Firstly my laptop had to be sent away when I spilt liquid on the keyboard and the spacebar gave up, very annoying. Used my other half's laptop but his is useless with the wireless and spent most of my time disconnecting!!

Poker has been pretty terrible, get my chips in ahead, get donked my another loon, go on tilt, play like a donkey. It is a vicious circle but hopefully something I can overcome.
I have never played so many fish as there are on Crypto at the moment. They always say you should be happy to have them on your table but when they consistently knock you out of multis it is tough. I guess playing cash it is different and you do want them there. In the long term you will finally get paid off by them but in an mtt once you are out that is it.

Been playing on Pokerstars a little bit too. There is so much choice on there and hopefully I can build up a bankroll. Have just about given up on Betfair apart from Dreamteam, just no liquidity in the multis and not enough choice.

Anyway, that's my rant over :-). Everything else in life pretty good, summer is on it's way and looking forward to the show season with the horses.

Another month gone, the daffodils are out and spring is on it's way. Spring is definitely my favourite season. The dark nights are gone and I don't have to muck out the horses every day!

Poker in February started great with a couple of wins. Has slowed down past couple of weeks though. With me working lates every other week I don't get to play as much but I do get to go riding on the mornings so I am happy with a nice balance.

Final profit for Feb was £2256. One win in the $13k and a win in the 1.5k. Also managed to make 8 FT's. Need to improve there though. Happy enough with that but would have liked to maybe have won a bit more after the start of the month. Hopefully March will be a good month.

Have been concentrating on trying to fix a few leaks in my game. I know when I am playing a hand badly. I struggle to fold that pair of queens on a K high board. I don't seem to believe my opponent and end up paying to find out that I was wrong! Also I seem to overplay AK, I have always hated this hand. So, hopefully I can fix these mistakes and reap the rewards, lol.

Cheltenham soon and this will be the first year in a few that I will miss most of it due to work. Gutted but hopefully will pick a few winners :-)

Another win!!!

Quiet week on the poker. After Monday was working lates, don't finish till 11.30pm so no time for poker. Friday night played a couple of mtt's but was really tired and lost with a flush draw in one and against one in another!

Last night played a few mtt's and managed to win the 1.5k for £450. Really pleased to get another win, things have definitely turned the corner.

Had a lovely day today, me and my friend loaded up the trailer with two of the horses and took them to the beach. Was a beautiful crisp morning and the beach was deserted. Had a great time and makes me realise how lucky I am to have such a fantastic hobby :-) Poker is what pays for my horses thankfully.

On days this week so will hopefully will have a few decent results.

On the Up!!!!

Well, February has started great. Knew the bad run would eventually change and at last it has!

Have so far managed six FT's. A second in the 2k, a third and a fourth in the 1.5k and to top it all managed to win the $13k on Monday night.

It was my birthday on Monday but I was at work doing lates. Had a bit of a bad stomach so came home early. Decided to give the $13k a go. Struggled for most of the first couple of hours. Eventually managed a couple of double ups and was doing ok with an average stack when I get dealt AK. A guy who has been playing a lot of pots has just won a pot after raising in EP with A6 off. Blinds are 300/600 and he raises to 2400. I reraise to 6000 and he pushes. I know that I am probably racing at best and if I fold I still have a 18k stack but I decide to call and hope to double up against a loose opponent. Unfortunately he has KK but an ace on the flop and I am chipleader.

Cruised to the FT and hit it in 5th with 58k. Manage to win a few decent pots and I am on 80k. Big chipleader (130k) has been playing a lot of pots and raises again. I am sat in the BB with KK and reraise him. He calls and the flop comes J8J. I bet half the pot and he calls. Turn is another 8, I bet again and he raises, I push and he has to call for another 14k (pot 150k) and flips over A9. River is a blank and I take the chip lead.

Then it all seemed to go a bit mad with loads of quick knockouts and I found myself heads up with 202k to my opponents 263k. Then this is the hand that really won me the tourney

Really needed a decent win and chuffed to bits. Hopefully things will now carry on in the same vein. Working lates till Thursday so won't be hitting the tables much until Friday.

Big shout to Ukgatsby too. He has been hitting lots of FT's with a nice win in the $5k gtd headhunter and a second in the $4k gtd. He is one of the most consistent mtt players I know and is a great railbird when needed xx.

Finally managed to update. Well, January was a terrible start to the year. Outdraw after outdraw consquently caused me to play bad and ended the month £900 down.

Was ready to pack in at one point as playing poker and constantly getting beat when your chips go in ahead is not fun! But, I know that things will eventually turn as they have in the past after a bad run.

February has already started better with a couple of FT's including a third and a fourth in the 1.5k. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come!

New job is going well, much more relaxed just unfortunate it came with a pay drop. Will be glad when the summer is here, this time of the year is no fun. Will try and update a bit more regular this month.

Urgh, Is it February yet???

Sorry for lack of updates, been busy with work and stuff.

Well, I knew I was due a bad month and this one is it so far. Running really bad which consequently causes me to play bad. So far down about £600. Last year February was a terrible month and I nearly quit. This time I am just going to keep plugging on as I know that it will change eventually.

Work and horses keeping me very busy so fitting poker in when I get chance. Job is great though and so much better than my last post.

Happy New Year!!

As the title says hope you all have a great 2008!!

2007 was a strange year, low point was my dad being taken ill but thankfully now he is loads better. High point was qualifying for St. Kitts.

At the beginning of the year this is what I put on here as my aims -

My goals for 2007 are to continue to improve in my game and make a nice profit. Would like to qualify for a big live tournament and win some mtt's instead of just making FT's, lol.

Well. I think that I did just what I wanted!

Thankfully due to Ukgatsby's £2 thread on Betfair's forum he has kept a record of my results.
I made 91 FT's and won 13 mtt's.

My profit for the year was £18,190.

I qualified for the CPC and cashed in two events and had a great time. Also I am now on the Hendon Mob database which I thought was quite funny! http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=95693

Obviously very pleased with this as I only play for fun and have to fit it in around a full time job, shiftwork and three horses!

I am hoping for much of the same in 2008, would love to qualify for some more live events. I really enjoyed myself in St. Kitts and felt that I could hold my own. My live game left a lot to be desired beforehand and I still have a lot to learn. Confidence for me is definitely the key though. When playing live in the past I have been too worried about getting knocked out instead of playing my normal game.

I would like to get past the £20k barrier with my profit and improve my ratio of wins to FT's in multi's.

I also need to keep away from the thunder sixpaks. I was having some success in these but I now find that I am a losing player on them and it is a big leak.

My other biggest weakness is playing when tired. I know that I am playing terribly and playing just for the sake of it. I need to stop myself doing this.

Since I have a new shift pattern now I will only be able to play evening's every other week so this could make the above difficult but will give it a shot :-).

Since I started playing poker I have met some fantastic people through the Betfair forum and St. Kitts who have become friends. Hopefully get to meet up with them all in 2008!!

Haven't had chance to play much this month as been busy with work and xmas stuff. When I have it hasn't been good, down about £500 at moment. Off to the parents tomorrow for xmas, laptop going too so may play a couple of games!

Haven't updated for ages, didn't take my laptop to St. Kitts so will try and remember everything now!

Saturday 24th Nov
Travelled up to London by train. Met Prettyace in the evening and had a lovely chinese meal just off Leicester Square. Then went to The Empire to play poker. Got a really nice surprise when we got there. Vera and her boyfriend Richard were there along with Queenoffe and Dangero. Never met Dangero before and he is a lovely guy.

Played the £70 F/O, about 50 runners and just bubbled the final table finishing in 11th. Had a great evening and was great to meet up with some of the hunnies!!

Sunday 25th Nov
Had a relaxing day in London, saw a few sites, did some shopping and met up with Steve's son for a meal. Had a look at the London xmas lights and was not impressed!

Monday 26th Nov
Got up at six to get the seven o'clock train to Gatwick. Went to check in and found that our flight was actually called 'Caribbean Poker Classic', lol. Flight was a bit cramped and XL airways not the best that I have flyed with. Finally got to St. Kitts, lovely warm weather and Marriott resort very nice. Went to welcome reception and met up with a few players. Azimut and Soap said hi, both really nice guys. Some guys were playing the first sat to the main event, luckily had my seat so after a few drinks went to bed shattered.

Tuesday 27th Nov
Got up early, had some breakfast and spent a couple of hours by the pool. Met up with Whitedog and Meg 80, Whitedog had been playing till six in the morning and had won his main event seat, he was very happy and a bit drunk I think!

At 2pm there was a $200 freezeout which I decided to play which got 173 runners, 2k starting stack and 30 min levels. At my first table met a great guy from Leeds called Sherman, he was there with his son Adam who was in the main event, he became a good friend during the week. Tournament was going great, after winning my first pot felt quite confident. Unfortunately I lost a few decent pots, AA vs 56 against a short stack, AK vs 99 after hitting my king on the flop only for the nine to come on the turn. Got to the dinner break at 7pm but a little short stacked. After dinner there were about 30 players left with 18 paid. Blinds were at 600/1200 and with about 11k left it was folded to me in the sb. I pushed with Q8 only for the BB to call with A9, no help and I am knocked out in 21st, three from the money :-(. Was happy with my play though and just needed to win a couple of races, from about two hours in my chips were only at risk twice.

Wednesday 28th Nov
Same routine as Tuesday, breakfast, pool then get ready for afternoon's tournament.

Was a $300 freezeout with 131 players, 3k starting stack and 30 min levels. In the first session I was off to a flier. Knocked a short stacked Animal out with QQ vs AK, knocked another guy out with 66 on a 637 flop, he had 99. Got to the break with about 10k.

Had a real character on our table called Chris, he kept us all entertained especially when he got a 8 hand penalty for telling this moaning whining 'Phil Hellmuth wannabee' yank he had massive ears :-).

Everything had slowed down a bit for me. Got dealt JJ in MP, guy with slightly more chips than me pushed from utg, I called and he showed KT. Everything great until the river brought the king. At this point I was crippled. With about 1600 chips left, blinds 300/600 and one hour to the dinner break I just started sticking them in whenever I could. I didn't want to have to go to dinner short and decided to either try and get back in it or bust. Managed a couple of double up's, the best when I pushed with 88, called by AK and the board came QT388 :-) !!

Went to dinner with about 26k. came back and blinds were 600/1200. A few hands in I get dealt JJ again. Guy in EP with equal chips raises to 4k, I push and he calls with AK, A on the turn and I am out in 25th with 18 paid!!!! grrrr. Bit cheesed off that I have played for 7 hours again and just missed the money again. Then played an stt with some of the Sun poker guys who were all drunk after playing Beerpong. I don't drink beer so didn't bother. Was a good laugh though and met some fab people especially Noseyboy who had won an EPT package for winning Beerpong and was quite drunk.

Thursday 29th Nov
Decided to give the poker a miss today. There was a $400 freezeout but needed a day of chilling out. Spent the day by the pool and went to Bassterre, the capital to have a look round. Bought a couple of things. Not a great deal there and had a laugh when a taxi driver called Veronica started following us because we said she could take us back to the hotel!

Played a couple of sit and go's in the evening, was running terrible, got knocked out of one all in pre with AQ vs KT and another all in pre KK vs QQ!

At this point my confidence was getting low, with the main event starting on the Friday I started to wonder if my luck could change.

Friday 30th Nov
First day of the main event which started at midday. Had some breakfast and made my way down to draw my seat. With a 15k starting stack and 50 min blinds I was ready to play a patient game.

First table was quite a nice one, had Adam, Sherman's son to my left and had a guy called Vic on my right. Vic is a really rich guy from Canada who comes down to St. Kitts once a month on his private jet. He was murdering the table hitting every hand. the good thing was he took a liking to me and whenever it was my BB he would give me a walk, even showing KQ and saying he must respect the lady, lol!

By the first break not a great deal had happened and I was still on starting stack. Was dealt KJ on the button and raised. Adam in the SB called, flop AQ2, Adam bet out and I called. Turn brought the 10 on a rainbow board. Adam bet and I called. River was a blank, at this point there was about 6k in the pot. Adam bet 6k and raised to 10k. He folded and I was off and running.

Soon got moved to another table. Juha Helppi was on the table but I must admit I had never heard of him! First big pot I got dealt 55 in EP, blinds 300/600 and I limped. Guy on the button made it 2000 and I called. Flop came 5TQ, I checked and he bet 2000, I called, turn brought another 5! I checked, he bet 4000 and I called. River was a blank. Asked the guy how much he had left, he had 6000 so I bet 6000. He instantly called and flipped over TT!! Sick hand and he was very unlucky.

Next decent pot and I had AT on the button, blinds 400/800. I was not paying attention to the table and when it got to me I thought everyone had folded. I announced raise and went to bet 2k. I then stupidly got told that Juha had pushed utg for 6200. I then had to make the minimum raise to 12.4k. the blinds folded and Juha showed KJ. I hit an ace on the flop and knocked him out. Bit embarrassing though!!

A few hands later I get 99 in the BB. All folded to the SB. He only had about 10k left and pushed. I called and he showed KJ. A king came on the flop but a nine saved me on the river.

For the rest of the day I won a couple of small pots and we finished at about 11.30pm.

53 left from 153 and I had 55.7k and the average was 42k so I was happy.

We had met a lovely couple on the first day from Bristol called Karen and Paul. Paul had won his seat in the Thurs night satellite. He hadn't played live much but ended day 1 as the chip leader with 118k!

Saturday 1st Dec
Woke up at about 9.30am and got some breakfast. Play started at 12pm. With 53 left, 30 would get paid. I got to St. Kitts for $70 so I really wanted to cash. After just missing out on the money in two other events I was determined not to do it again. First hour the only hand I got was AcQs, I raised to 4k and was called by the button. Flop came all diamonds, I bet out 5k only to be raised so I had to fold. In the next hour I got dealt AK, a guy in EP who had been raising a lot of pots raised it to 15k, I pushed for 40k and he folded. With about 45k left and the blinds at 1000/2000 there were 31 players left. A big stack on our table was raising every hand and I just had to keep folding. The bubble finally burst and I was over the moon.

At this point we redrew seats as we were going to play six handed. I was happy to up my play now I had got in the money. One of the first hands I got dealt was KK in the BB. A guy who I had covered raised utg. The guy in the SB had a huge stack and pushed all-in, I pushed and the guy utg did too! The guy utg showed AhAd, the SB showed AsKh and I had KcKd. The flop came AcQc2c so the SB had hit the case ace! I needed a club to stay alive and was pleading with the dealer to put one down, lol. The turn was the 7h and the river 3h and that was the end of me.

Finished 27th for $7750 so was happy enough. Paul finished 11th for $17500, a fantastic result!

Got knocked out at about 3.30pm so went down to the pool for a few hours. There was a $500 freezout starting at 8pm and decided to give it a shot. 143 runners, 4k starting stack and 30 mins levels. In the first session got off to a fantastic start and ended up with 19k. We played down to 18 and finished at 3am, I had about average chips. Finally flopped into bed exhausted.

Sunday 2nd Dec
Breakfast and back in the poker room at 12pm to finish the $500 game. Had about 28k in chips but with the blinds starting at 1000/2000 I wanted to get off to a quick start. Dealt AT in LP and pushed. Guy in BB dwelled for ages and finally called with KQ. Hit an ace for good measure and I was back in it. Few hands later I get AQ in the BB, folded round to the SB who pushes for 20k, I call and he shows Q9. No help for him and another nice pot. Before I knew it we had made the final table. First decent pot I get dealt AK in the BB, blinds 1500/3000, aggressive scandi with a huge stack on the button makes it 10k and I flat call. Flop comes AK4, I check and he bets 15k, I call. Turn is another K. I check again and he bets 15k again. I call. River is a blank and I bet 20k to which he folds. I now have 100k +. Few hands later and I raise to 9k with 99 in mp, guy to my left pushes for 40k and I call. He shows 44 and I knock him out. Next hand I get involved with I have 66 in the BB. The guy who called earlier with KQ pushes for about 28k utg. I decide to call as I believe he was pushing before the blinds went through him. Unfortunately he has KK and I double him up. We are soon four handed. The blinds are now 3k/6k and I am down to about 70k. I get dealt AJ utg and push. The guy in the BB dwells then calls with AQ :-(. No help and I am out in 4th for $5.1k. Over the moon to have got so far though!

A $1000 freezeout has just started but I decide I have played enough and Steve is getting bored with living in the casino on his own!

Spend the rest of the day by the pool then in the evening went out for a steak with Paul and Karen. We both have some celebrating to do and have a couple of bottles of champers. Watched a bit of the FT of the main event. Thierry H/Garfy comes second. A fantastic player and a really nice guy. Sun poker players are 1st and 2nd which is great.

Had some fun in the casino and went to bed happy and drunk!

Monday 3rd Dec
Time to go home and I was ready for it. Checked out at 12pm and had a few hours to kill as the coaches didn't take us to the airport till 5. Played $1/$2 cash for fun all afternoon. Got to the airport and sat in departures. The plane was supposed to leave at 8.30pm but when 8.30 came there was no plane. Finally got told that it was in Antigua with tech probs. At 11.30pm we finally got told that we would not be flying :-(. We all went back to the Marriott and finally got a room at about 1am. What a crap day!

Tuesday 4th Dec
After breakfast got told that we would be flying at 3.30pm. Finally took off at 4.30pm. Had great fun trying to sort out getting home to Plymouth as we had missed our original connecting flights and all others were full. Sorted a hire car and got into Gatwick at 3.30am. Gave Animal a lift to Exeter as he was stuck too. Great to meet him, lovely guy. Finally got home at 10.15am and went to bed!

Really enjoyed myself and will definitely be trying to qualify for some more live events. Felt that I played well and held my own. Met some fantastic friendly people who I will keep in touch with.
Final profit for November is £8100 so very happy! Have included whole of trip and have started Dec from when I have got back. Thx for reading.

Belated update

Been a quiet month really. In profit but only by about £1k. Managed a few decent FT's, fifth in the 13k and a fourth in the 20k.

Monday night I played a rakeaddicts freeroll final. This is a league from the monthly freerolls. The top ten played an stt with 1st prize being an $11k Bahamas package and 2nd $500. I managed to squeeze into the final. Felt that I played well and got to the heads up with about equal chips. Then it all went wrong, my opponent called my ace high bluff with bottom pair for a huge pot. Then I got dealt JT. He raised and I called, flop came J9Q, with middle pair and a straight draw the chips went in. He had 99, I missed and finished second. Never mind, $500 for nothing is great and the rakeaddicts deal is a great one.

Off to London tomorrow, meeting up with Prettyace and going to play the freezeout at The Empire casino, Sunday will be a day in London and then Monday we fly out to St. Kitts. Really looking forward to the break and if I can get a result in the main event it will be the icing on the cake. So, next post shall hopefully be a happy report!

Another one on the board.

November had started very quietly with a terrible night on Sunday where I was running into nutters left, right and centre.

Last night turned it round though with a win in the 2k gtd. This has always been my favourite mtt due to the fact that I have won it a few times. With only 10 paid I was struggling as we neared the FT but managed to get there 8th in chips and needing a quick double up. Managed that when dealt 55 in the cutoff, pushed and the SB called with AQ. From then on I had a dream run and eventually ended up heads up with about even chips. Managed to chip away at my opponent until I had a three to one chip lead with the blinds at 1200/2400. Got dealt AQ in the BB, he raised to 7200, I pushed and he called with A2, flop brought two queens and it was all over, a nice £600 for my efforts.

Went back to work on Tuesday which I was dreading. Everyone has been very good and I shall be moving to a different job within the company in the next few weeks. I will be working a few late shifts which will give me less time for poker but at least I should stay sane!!!

An early end of month as crypto kicked it's legs in the air and died earlier tonight.

Managed three FT's since last post but no wins. Had a great month though, with three wins, one 2k gtd and two 1.5k gtd's, final profit stands at £3890. One of my best months this year. Just would like to take down one of the bigger mtt's like the $20k or the 40k. You need to have more than your fair share of luck though, winning the 50/50's and trying not to get outdrawn.

Lots to luck forward to in November especially the CPC in St. Kitts. The resort looks amazing. Everything is booked and sorted so now just count the days till we go. If I could get a result in the poker that would be the icing on the cake but mostly looking forward to just getting away for a week.

Back at work next week, not looking forward to it, hopefully things will be ok.

Oh, and a big shout to Ukgatsby for another Gatsby award!!

Funny old game

Playing mtt's are like waiting for a bus. You have no results of note for a while and then bang, they turn up all at once.

Monday night played the usual mtt's on Sun. Knocked out of most losing races or getting outdrawn. Was doing great in the $20k, with 24 left I was in the top five, then I blew up in what can only be called a 'spectacular' style. First hand, A3 in the BB, only just been moved to the table, guy who I class as being quite aggressive raises from the cut-off into the unopened pot. I thought it was a steal and pushed all-in for the re-steal hoping to get him to fold. He calls with JJ, doh!!, and half my stack is gone. Read it completely wrong, very next hand get AQ, still kicking myself from the previous hand I raise in mp. Limper in early position re-raises me, I didn't think for one moment that he was trapping with a big hand, tbh I didn't even bother to think and stuck my chips in. He calls instantly with AA, doh, doh, doh. Two hands later get AK utg, push all in and the BB calls with A6, 6 on the flop and I have bubbled. All my own fault for playing like a complete donkey.

Last night played the 1.5k, 2k and $20k. The 1.5k is currently my lucky tourney, cruised through it, never had my chips in danger until heads up and won it again for £504.

At the same time the $20k was going well again, but with the bubble approaching I very nearly went out again, I should have gone out but I got a huge suckout. Once again in the sb I get dealt TT, I have just tangled in a big pot with the guy on the button which I won. All folded to him and with the blinds at 400/800 he raises to 3200. I thought it was quite a big raise and looked like a steal. I re-raise to 6400 and he just calls. Flop comes 2J4, I bet 3200 and he pushes all-in. At this point I should have folded but I read it completely wrong again and called, he had AJ, turn is a K, river a miracle ten. I did apologise and felt pretty bad but the amount of times the same has happened to me I guess it all evens out. Finally got to the FT but was quite short and in eighth. Two hands in I get dealt 99 in the BB. Big stack raises, I push, he calls with AQ and I double up. Next hand I get A6 in the sb. All folded to me, I raise the BB, he calls, flop comes 5AK, I bet, he raises so I push, he has KJ, my hand holds up and I am back in it.

Eventually get down to three handed but the chipleader has a huge stack compared to me and the other guy. Manage a double up to put me in clear second and then the killer blow, me
vs the chipleader.

A good night

Haven't had much to update, was having a quiet week, breaking even most nights.

Played the 40k, 1.5k and 2k last night. Qualified for the 40k via satellite for £13. 1.5k went great, was winning lots of pots, getting some nice cards at the right time and managed to make the FT in the top three. Knocked out about four players to give me a decent chip lead and finally ended up heads up with even stacks. Heads up lasted for about 45 mins! I would get ahead then my opponent would double up again. My TT vs AQ and my A8 vs 33 both got him back in it. Finally managed to get the upper hand and had the chip lead by quite a large margin. Get dealt QQ in sb and just limp. He pushes with A7, flop is 477 (argh) turn a blank and river a queen!! £606 for the win and pleased to have another win.

In the 40k I was just mooching along. One key hand was when I get dealt KK in EP, blinds 400/800. Raise to 2400 and get one caller, flop comes K77, bingo, just check and he bets, I call, turn a blank, check again, he bets, I call, river another blank, I let the clock run and finally push hoping to look weak, he instantly calls with AA and I have doubled up. Bubble soon bursts but I am quite short, manage to limp into the top 20. Afer an age finally make the FT but I am a short stack, with one gone already I push with my small stack with 99, no good against AQ and I am ninth for £827.

Obviously pleased with the evening and hopefully things will continue in the same vein.

Other things in life not fantastic, been signed off work for another two weeks with stress and other shit. Hopefully things will begin to turn around and can get back in a fortnight.

Last couple of days

Sunday night played the bloggers game on Pokerstars and also the 40k on Sun.

40k went well for first few hours, always above average chips but when it matters the cards just dried up on me. Got past the bubble and found A3 in the BB, with only about 4 BB's left the button put me all in, I called, he has KJ and hits, out in 36th so got my money back and a little more.

Bloggers game was great fun. 1300+ starters with a 10k starting stack, after the first hour I was still on 10k and getting bored, decided to just play loose, after getting a couple of sick outdraws I was in the top 30, lol. Then decided to take it a little more seriously. Finally ended up in 26th which won me a 160gb i-pod. Was quite chuffed to finish this high with so many runners. Well done to Pandybear too who also won an i-pod. Poor guy who finished 10th not only bubbled the FT but got 33 poker books!! I would have been sick, lol.

Last night managed a FT on the 2k but only got 9th after running a steal into aces. Elsewhere was getting some sick hands, JJ all in on a 242 flop to be called by 66 who hit a 6 on the turn. In the 20k went out with AK on an AK8 flop, he had 88 :-(

Playing a battle of the forums game tonight on Betfair, should be great fun with a percentage going to charity. Playing for the ladies team and hopefully we shall kick some male ass!!

Played three mtt's last night, the $16k on Betfair and the $20k and 2k on Sun.

$16k on Betfair didn't really go to plan, lost a huge chunk early with QQ when my oppo kept check calling on an ace high board, put him down as weak with no ace and he flips over AJ, doh! Always struggling from there and eventually went out in 38th.

2k went well and made the FT in about 5th position. Felt that I could win this again, stacks pretty even. All going well until I get dealt AQ in the BB with 5 of us left, blinds 1500/3000 and I have about 35k. Folded to the button who pushes, he has done this every time it has been folded to him so I call, he has 78, no help for him until the river drops an eight :-( This leaves me with 3k and next hand I am out. Win that one and I am chipleader with four left.

$20k going ok as well. Manage to scrape into the money after my button push with 34 is called by the BB with AJ and I hit a four. At that point I was lowest in chips and really had no other choice. Make it to the FT quite comfortably in about seventh. Win a huge pot with AK vs 66 to put me second with six left. Unfortunately I have the huge chipleader to my left so stealing is very difficult as he is prepared to take people on with marginal hands. Lose a huge pot to him on a 66854 board, I have 78, he has 66!! After that begin to struggle, blinds getting big and I am pushing at every available time. With five left and with about 5xBB's left I push utg with 44, BB has QQ and am out in fifth. Nice enough payout so can't complain.

Two FT's then and things seem to still be going well. Wish I could say this about the rest of life. Work is a shit, been getting a lot of headaches so went to docs yesterday and he has put it down to stress. If I had enough money to be able to back me up I think I would just jack it in and play poker while looking for something better. Unfortunately it is not an option at the moment.

A nice start to October

Well, my run of form after winning the CPC seat seems to be staying for the moment.

Played the $50k on Mansion the other night, this is a $50 rebuy, I got to the first break having had no rebuys, I added on and was just above average stack. Managed to end up 15th for an ok payout, was really pleased with the way I played though as I got KK once and no other pocket pairs above nines the whole tourney.

Last night played the $20k, 2k and $13k on Sun. Got off to a fantastic start in the $20k, by the first break I was in the top five, then in the second hour this hand happened

In the 2k things are going nicely and I get to the FT fifth in chips. Had some nice hands at the right time. Eventually end up heads up, he has 128k and I have about 26k. Just play aggressive and manage a luckbox double up with A2 vs AT. Win another huge pot with top pair vs his second pair. I now have him down to 49k. I get dealt Q4s in the BB. He calls, I check, flop comes ace high with two spades, I bet, he pushes with an ace, I call and hit my flush on the river. Really pleased with a win and the 2k is definitely my favourite mtt :-)

Still in the $13k with about average stack. This changes in the space of three hands, first one I double up with AA, then I get dealt TT, guy raises to 3 x BB. I call, flop comes ten high, he bets, I raise and he pushes with his aces. No help from him and I am chipleader. This is when it went pear shaped. was getting dealt complete trash, every time I tried a move I had to fold. With 32 left and 30 paid I get dealt 66 in the sb, folded to me so I raise and the BB reraises, I push and he calls with kings, doh!

Pleased with how things are going though, just wish my job could be just as enjoyable, really getting to the end of my tether with shiftworking and lots of other shit going on. Would love to tell them to stick there job but unfortunately I have bills to pay :-(

What a month. Sorry haven't updated much but had one hell of a month at work and the poker was terrible, no-one wants to read about my bad beat whingeing.

Terrible first three weeks of the month, kept getting my chips in ahead only to hit the inevitable outdraw. Made some FT's but always ended up only getting 8th, 9th etc, which in mtt's is no good. I know that because I mostly play mtt's the variance is a killer. Just have to keep plugging away at it and it does turn.

Things finally changed last week when I got second in the £2k gtd on Sun. Managed some other FT's and things were beginning to turn around.

Last night decided to play a thunder to the CPC Final and the $150k on Mansion. Won a seat in the thunder for $70 and made my third CPC final. My luck in these have been terrible. With only one seat up for grabs I knew it would be tough to get through. Had a dream start in the first level when I hit a set of eights and find that my opponent has hit a set of two's. From then on I seemed to stay at the same level. Had QQ busted twice by AJ and AK after I had hit a set on the flop. Just kept my focus and ended up on the FT. This was a real rollercoaster but I felt that I was playing at my best. Eventually got four handed and with the chip lead I just bullied the others and was winning a lot of pots. Before I knew it we were heads up with level stacks. I then get dealt AJd. I raise, he pushes. He has been getting me off a lot of pots earlier so I decide to call. He has QQ :-( Flop comes with two diamonds, turn a blank, river a diamond!! Lucky me!!

Finally got a seat and over the moon, me and Mr Dests were supposed to be going on holiday when my dad was taken ill earlier this year. I told him that I would get us a trip to St. Kitts and I have done it. He didn't believe me for one minute either!

Meanwhile I am down to the last 18 in the $150k on Mansion from 850 starters. After being heads up in the CPC I haven't been paying it that much attention. Get dealt 77 in the cutoff. I push for 77k, the button reraises all in for 100k. He has A9?? He hits his ace and nine on the flop and a nine on the turn for good measure and I am out in 18th for $1200. Win that one and I am in the top three with a $33k top prize to play for. Never mind though as was still buzzing from the CPC but it would have made a great evening fantastic!

So including the CPC, my profit for September ended up at about £4.5k, not bad considering that I was having my worst month of the year!!

BFWCOP and CPC again!

Well, what a great weekend. Spent it in London for the Betfair forum game. Got to London Friday afternoon and checked into the hotel. This is the second Betfair forum game I have been to and knew that it would be a good weekend.

Friday night is a team game, 8 teams of 8 playing 8 stt's. Saturday is the main game.

In team Flashmob again this year and thought we could do well. Game finally started and found myself at a table with Highstack, Dealem, Divaflava, Chop180, Ace3, Dubai and Reactive. Tough table but thought I could hold my own. Unfortunately the dealer did not share my belief. Got dealt rags after rags, with Highstack and Diva playing quite aggressive found it very difficult to get involved in any pots and by the first break I was struggling. I had seen KQ once and that was it.
After the break decided that things couldn't get any worse. I find KQ again and raise, everyone at the table except Dubai knew that this was the first pot I had opened up with a raise. Dubai then promptly puts me all in! Argh! Decide that I don't want to get knocked out with KQ and have to fold. Manage to get my chips in first a couple of times with rags and luckily everyone folds. At this point we are the only table that still has 8 players left and things are getting tough. Divaflava has been raising me in the blinds for fun and showing trash, me having to fold every single time, I get dealt QJ in the BB, Divaflava puts me all in, at this point I am short and decide that I have to take a chance and hope I have live cards. I call, he flips over AJ :-( No help for me and I am the first out on our table. Really disappointed with myself but just didn't get anything to play with, not one pair :-(
Rest of the Flashmob did great, Milton Badley and Boro winning there tables, if a couple of us had scored more points we may have been in with a chance. We finished fourth though which was a good result considering we were classed as the no-hopers.

Saturday morning went to the local cafe with Nifer and Longjon for a nice fry- up ready for the day ahead. Got to the Big Slick early and played an stt while waiting for every one else.
Main event finally started and I got off to a great start, increasing my stack from 10k to 14k by the first break.
After the first break got moved a couple of times and ended up on the same table as Milton Badley and Mandylou, think I actually took Mr Dests place after he had been knocked out!
Won a couple of pots, then played a hand terribly in the blinds losing half of my stack. Very next hand I have AJ in the sb, Mandylou in the cutoff raises, I push all-in. Not much more to him so he has to call, he has KQ, ace on the flop and I double up. A few hands later and I get dealt TT, ith the blinds starting to hurt me I push all - in. Get called instantly by a guy with AA, no miracle card and I am out :-(

Stuck around for a while, played an stt only to see my AK busted by A( and AJ to bubble then off to Croyden for a steak. Get back to the club to find the FT just about to begin. Find out that Prettyace bubbled for the FT when her AA was cracked by AQ, ul hun.
Snap of the Flashmob on the FT so rooting for him. Had to be the most entertaining FT I have ever watched, Snap was talking trash talk of the highest degree and eventually emerged victorious at 4.30am. Another fantastic weekend and great to meet all the faces, new and old, bring on next year!

Got back on the Sunday night feeling pretty tired but had the CPC final to play after qualifying during the week. Got off to a great start again and felt I was playing well. With 41 starters there were 2 seats up for grabs. We are down to 18 when this happens,

Then on Tuesday I managed to win a seat to the WSOPE last chance game on Betfair, 212 runners and 5 seats to the WSOPE up for grabs. Very nice structure, 5000 starting chips with a 20 min clock.

Started well, very mixed bag of players from the absolute loons to very decent players. At first break I was upto 8k. Second session and was totally card dead but managed to stay in. By the third break though I was beginning to struggle, hadn't had any pairs over nines. Got dealt 88 in the sb, folded to me so I push, bb calls with AT, my eights hold up and I am back in it.

Then a few hands in the space of about ten. Firstly I get JJ, guy in ep makes it 2400, blinds 400/800. I flat call, which I shall forever kick myself for, guy after me goes all in, guy in ep calls and I have to believe that my jacks are behind so I fold. Guy in ep has 77 and other guy has AQ. The sevens hold up.

Next hand I get TT, raise to 2400 and solid guy puts me all in, once again I feel that I have to fold.

Now down to about 6 x bb's, find 55 utg and push just hoping that I can get through, all fold and I am still alive. A few hands later I get AKd, push all in and guy after me raises. Gone to a runner runner flush in 30th.

Felt that I was playing to my best, was only playing the one game as wanted to concentrate so was absolutely gutted. Some things are never meant to be I guess :-(

Off to London tomorrow for the Betfair forum game. Team game Friday night and main event on the Saturday. In the Flashmob team and truly believe we have a chance of winning even though not many others do.

Went last year and it is a great weekend. Some great, friendly people and good fun. Hopefully next post will be a full winning report!!

Been working nightshift again last few nights. Work starting to drive me mad. If only I could guarantee an income from poker I would jack it all in. One can only dream. At least got a couple of weeks off now.

Well, another winning month, about £1800, lost track at end as swapped laptops. Two nice wins and nine FT's on top.

No WSOPE for me, tried like mad to qualify for tonights final but my Betfair account seems to be doomed. Still trying for the CPC.

Should have made Sun GTD leaderboard again so another freeroll to play.

Hopefully more of the same for September. Have found it a little difficult at times for motivation though. Don't really know why, think it is more the way I am feeling than my poker.

Glad nightshift is over again, I really do detest it!

Got back to the tables last night looking forward to playing after a break. Decided to stick to Sun and play the 7.30pm £1.5k gtd, 8pm $20k gtd and 8.30pm £2k gtd.

Never really got going in the 1.5k, kept missing flops and quickly found myself down to 950 chips. With the blinds at 50/100 I find AJ in LP, decide to push and the BB with 1800 chips decides to risk half his stack with 45 suited. He duly hits and I am out. Have played this guy before and he is a complete nut job.

Meanwhile the £20k has started and I have got off to a great start. Felt that I was playing well. For some reason I get involved in the chat box when I should just keep stum. A guy with 2500 chips left with blinds at 150/300 goes all in. The BB who has 4000 in chips instantly calls with 48 suited. The other guy has a pair and doubles up. A few on the table question the BB's play at which point he starts giving them abuse for not understanding pot odds and that it is an instant call? At this point big mouth me gets involved trying to tell the guy that just because you have nice odds it doesn't take away the fact that 48 suited ain't beating a great deal. He then told me to read a book about pot odds while getting knocked out in the next hand. I really should not tap the glass :-(

I guess I could have got away from it but have run into this guy a few times before. Just couldn't believe that he is calling raises from utg with K9. At this point I am crippled and go out next hand. Win that hand and I am second in chips :-(

Meanwhile in the 2k gtd I have made the FT, after the above hand I get a bit tilty and turn into maniac loony woman, raising a lot with trash and the table folding to me. Before I know it we are down to four and I have the chip lead. I keep playing aggressive and we are heads up with even chips.

I really wish that you could do deals on crypto as the other guy was really nice and I felt that we both deserved to walk away with the same amount. Anyway, I win a couple of big pots and I have a 5-1 chip advantage. The other guy was quite passive and was folding to most raises. I made a big mistake with A3 when he has raised by putting him all-in. He has only been playing decent hands and turns over 88, an 8 on the flop and he is coming back at me. After giving myself a good kick I get my chip advantage back. Get dealt 79 in the BB, he makes a min raise and I call. Flop comes 8TJ, I check, he bets and I call, turn brings a queen, I check again, he pushes and I call. He shows QJ for the 2 pair. No help for him on the river and we have a winner :-) £624 and not a bad end to the evening!

My quest for the WSOPE and the CPC are not going too well. Think I have just about given up on the WSOPE, I run awful on Betfair at the moment and with only one seat in each final I just can't see me winning a seat. Early days for the CPC and I shall just keep trying.

Think I'll have a night off tonight and go get drunk!

All very quiet

Not a great deal to report, managed a few FT's but nothing to get excited about. Just seem to have struggled for motivation the last couple of weeks. On nightshift this week so will do me good to have a break I think.

On the personal front had to take a week off work after my two year old filly took offence to me telling her off and gave me a good kick. I have had the odd kick in the past but this one really hurt. She managed to get me at full reach and damaged the muscle in my thigh, so I have been limping around feeling sorry for myself :-)

Well, it's Sunday night and I am gonna give the CPC sat another go, really want to qualify for this one. Me and Steve still haven't had a holiday after my dad being ill and St. Kitts sounds perfect. You never know :-)

All is good

Since my last post had a nice couple of results.

First one was in a Betfair Bounty game, 200 runners, five bounties, which if knocked out would win you a seat in Sundays $525 WSOPE sat, and a $4k prizepool. Managed to finish 2nd to one of the bounties, hoped Betfair would give me the seat but the bounty got it :-(. Never mind, won $800.

Second one was last night in the $20k, was card dead for most of the tourney and with 30 left (20 paid) decided to just get really aggressive and try and build a stack instead of limping in to the money. Well, this worked great, at one point I had 141,000 chips and second had 38,000 chips, lol.
Got to the FT with a nice chip lead but then was getting no cards whatsoever. Tried bullying and stealing but everytime the short stacks were playing back at me. Soon found myself down in 4th, won a nice pot with AA vs KK and we are down to three. One guy was making some awful calls and sucking out and soon had the chip lead. I am dealt AK on the BB, he raises from the button (again) and I push, he has 99, no help for me and I am 3rd for $2000. Really happy with this but would love to take down the $20k one night.

Got six days off work now after working all weekend, plenty of time to spend with the horses and plenty of poker in the evening. Gonna try a couple of the big ones on Mansion and try and get a seat in one of the WSOPE final sats on Betfair.

A great start to August

Last night decided to play a couple of mtt's on Sun and the $10k gtd rebuy on Mansion.

First up was the 1.5k gtd on Sun, had a great start and was up in the top ten all the way to the FT. A little bit card dead before the FT and arrived there in 7th. The blinds were pretty high and it was gonna be a bit of a crapshoot. First decent hand I get is JJ, I raise from LP only for the guy on the button to push. I just about have him covered and with half of my stack invested I call, he has KK, no help for me and I am crippled. Next hand I get is A9s, push with my remaining 3000 chips, blinds 600/1200 and the BB calls me with T7, 7 on the river and I finish 9th.

Also play the 2k gtd and the 6k gtd, knocked out early in both losing races.

Meanwhile I am playing the mansion one, $20 rebuy, one hour rebuy period. Crazy play as usual for the first hour, I rebuy twice and add on so I have $80 invested. Never played an mtt with so many loons, think someone didn't tell them you still couldn't rebuy! All in's being called with QT, A3, 54, lol. Decided to just pick my spots with decent cards as some of them could not be bluffed. Was struggling when dealt 88 on the button, all folded to me and I push, SB and BB both call with A9 and KT, my eights hold up and I am back in it. The bubble quickly goes and I somehow end up on the FT in 5th. Blinds getting a bit silly at this point so just take my chances when I can. Guy in LP pushes all in, I am on the button with AT, he has made lots of steals and I have him covered so call. He has K8, no help for him and I am third in chips.

Two huge stacks on the table and before I know it we are three handed. Get a couple of decent hands and steal quite a bit and before I know it I am chipleader. Get dealt 88 on the button and raise, SB then pushes all in for about the sixth time I have raised from button. If I win this I will have a huge chip advantage heads up so decide to take my chance, I call, he shows AQ, no help for him and we are heads up, I have 630,000, other guy has 260,000. With the blinds now at 8000/16000, he is pushing to most of my raises. He gets about even, then I manage to get in front again. Eventually get dealt AJ in the SB, I raise to 48,000 and he pushes again. Call, he has K8, I hit my ace for good measure and we have a winner :-) A very nice $2853. Chuffed to bits and hopefully this is a sign of how August is gonna be! Big thanks to Mr G for railing when five handed to the end, he does help me keep my head xx

Only the second game I have played on Mansion and I must say that I find the site quite user friendly, I know that they have not been around too long so it makes me wonder how Betfair have a new site that is nowhere near as good. It's a real shame as I would prefer to play Betfair but it makes my laptop want to melt as it is so hungry on the CPU. Hopefully they can one day get this sorted, I still play there but nowhere as much as I used to.

Sorry for the lack of updates, work has been immensely busy :-( Been out a lot with the horses on my days off which has been great and have managed to play poker most nights except for when I have been working nights.

Well, July started great, thankfully, otherwise I would be probably looking at a loss for the month. First month that I have kept a detailed record and I am £2098.30 in profit for the month. Really pleased with that though and would be over the moon to be able to do it every month.

Things have gone a bit wrong the past week or so though, keep getting outdrawn when getting my chips in when in front but it is to be expected from time to time. I haven't tilted which has made me feel good though. Feel that I am able to just load up another game and carry on.

Just finished a week of nights at work. Been really busy. I detest nightshift as they are long nights and all you do is eat, sleep and work so looking forward to getting back to the tables tonight.

Nothing spectacular to report on the poker front, managed a 5th in the $20k gtd and a couple of other FT's. Hoping to get right back in the swing of it and carry on getting the same results.

Big shout for Deejay on the Betfair forum who managed to finished 85th in the WSOP Main event, awesome result and you couldn't wish to meet a nicer guy. Definitely makes me want to qualify for the WSOPE and I shall continue trying.

Well, a great start to July!

Had a FT on Sunday in the 1.5k gtd. Came second for £384. The heads up battle was the sickest I have ever been involved in. Had my opponent down to about 3 BB's three times but the following hands turned it round for him.
My A2 vs Q9, KJ vs Q3, A8 vs A3. There were a couple more which I can't remember except for when his 74 won too.

A couple of quiet days but luckily the six-paks were helping me keep ahead.
Last night played the 1.5k gtd, 2k gtd and 20k gtd. Early exits from the first two and knocked out of the 20k when in the BB with 56, limped to me and I check, flop comes 563, I bet big and get one caller, turn brings an ace, I push and get a call from other guy who has A6.

Decide to then give the £6k gtd a go. I don't often play this mtt due to the fact that it doesn't finish till gone two in the morning and I normally have a seven o'clock start for work. But as I had Friday off thought I would give it a shot.
283 runners and the first couple of hours I was always struggling, always behind average stack and just looking for a hand to double up with. Managed to stay alive with steals and the odd decent hand and with 30 paid struggled to get past the bubble. With 30 left I was always near the bottom and the blinds were rather large in comparison to my stack. But with a couple of decent hands, (which are now a blur), made the top 20.

All the way through from 20 to 10 I was still last and starting pushing whenever folded to me just to stay ahead of the blinds. By some sort of miracle I managed to make the FT in about 8th place. At this point I was getting no hands and just found myself getting lucky in the BB when I was hitting flops in limped pots. After a while though find myself in the last four but still the short stack. At this point the hands started finally coming. JJ twice doubled me up and then I got AA in the sb. I had been raising the BB nearly every round and getting away with it so hoping that he has had enough and has half a hand I raise 3 x BB. He pushes and I instantly call, he has AT, no help for him and he is crippled. He goes a couple of hands later and we are down to three, me and another guy on about even chips and a short stack. The short stack eventually goes and we are heads up but the other guy has about a 3-1 chip lead.

Then begins the marathon, lol. Think it was the longest heads up battle I have played lasting about half an hour. I would get up to even with him and then he would get me back to where I started. At one point I was starting to get really frustrated and started fighting back, raising most hands from the sb. Got to even chips again and the other guy started folding a lot, he was pushing very rarely so knew when he had a hand. Won a big pot with TT and then I had the 3-1 chip lead. Kept raising most pots and with A5c in the sb I raised again, he pushed and I decided to call, he has K8, the flop brings a 5 which I don't need but no K or 8 and I have won for a very nice £1680!!! Absolutely buzzing and over the moon with a win in one of the bigger mtt's. Mr Gatsby was railing and was a great help telling me when to calm down and not lose my head, ty hunnie ;-)

I seem to find that I get some of my better results when I have to struggle for most of the tourney, don't know quite what that means!

Have finally started keeping a detailed log of my P&L so will be able to keep an exact eye on how I am doing. So pleased with my poker at the moment, haven't deposited in my Sun account since last August and have managed to have quite a few nice withdrawals. Unfortunately my Betfair account hasn't been as good so won't be playing as much on there except for trying to qualify for the WSOPE.

Life is good!

Well, what a June!!!

After the stress and worry of my dad and going to Spain, everything is now looking good. He is recovering well and eating for England so all is good.

On the poker front had a cracking month. 10 FT's in total and from Wednesday have had a FT every night.

Best two results were a 5th in the $20k for $1212 and a win tonight in the 1.5k gtd on Sun for £576.

Still buzzing from the 1.5k, really nice way to finish the month with a win. This puts my profit for June at about £1300 I think, I haven't kept records tbh :-)

Hopefully I can carry on into July in the same vein, will be nice to see where I have ended up on the Sun GTD FT Leaderboard, should definitely qualify for the $5k freeroll now.

Back and all is well

Hello all. Got home last Wedsnesday and dad got home on Saturday safe and sound. He has got a lot better and just needs to build his strength up. Really happy and feel much better now. Thanks for all the lovely comments and especially to Mr Gatsby who was a star finding info on the web for me at the beginning.

Played a few mtt's whilst in Spain, not a lot else to do of an evening. Managed a couple of FT's and a 2nd in the 2k which was a nice payout. No sooner had I got back and it was back to work for a weekend of 12hr nightshifts so no playing for me. Off for a few days now so shall be playing each evening :-)

Just read on the Betfair forum that Creambun, one of the £2 multi threaders, has won a $23k package to the WSOPE in September, fantastic result and it has spurred me on to have a go myself in the near future. Would love to qualify for a big event later this year. After our holiday plans went out of the window due to my dads illness I have decided to try for an event abroad later in the year, maybe the BAPT if Betfair do it again. Anyway, thats enough for now.

Hello from Spain. In a little city called Lugo, not somewhere you would pick for your hols! My dad is slowly recovering, doctors said today that he will probably be able to go home at the end of next week which is great news. He will not be able to work for a few months so hopefully he will just take it easy! Feeling a bit homesick, nobody speaks english here and my spanish is terrible. Also not a great fan of the food, I could kill for a nice roast dinner!

Spent Saturday night in London. Decided to check out the new empire casino in Leicester Square. Only opened last week and they have spent over £12 million on it. Must say it was very nice. Decided to have a go at the poker, a £50 rebuy! Anyway, to cut a long story short, I bought in once and finished 7th of 35 making a small profit! Pleased with my live game, feel that is improving loads :-)

Got back to hotel earlier last night, nightlife here non-existent and just wanted to crash after being at hospital most of day. Played a few mtt's and ran terrible except for the $25k on Betfair. With 600 runners decided to go for it the 1st hour and was in the top ten at first break. Lost a huge chunk with AA vs KK but managed to get right back into it. With 60ish left made a howler of a mistake getting in a blind on blind battle with K6 vs KQ on a K high flop, finished in 62nd and kicked myself for the rest of the evening!!!

Dreamteam and other shit

Not been a great week, actually it has been a bloody awful week.

My dad has been doing a walk on his own across Spain for the last five weeks. He has become quite ill which has culminated in him having to have a big op. Got my mum and sister straight out there and I am going to take over from my sister this weekend. He is going to be ok but is very weak and don't know when we will be able to bring him home.

This all started on Wednesday and I decided that I didn't want to go to London for Dreamteam. When we decided that my sis would go out with mum though I was faced with sitting in the house all weekend moping so decided at the last minute to go to London. At least if I was in London I could get to Stansted if I had to and get straight out there. I am back in London this weekend and fly out Sunday morning. Don't know how long I will be there, just want to get him home.

Met up with the hunnies on Friday night at the Western club in London. Really nice big club but a bit of a sod to find. Got there late and was on the wrong side of this really busy road which we could not cross! Luckily Prettyace came to our rescue and came and got us in her car. Met Flowerpot for the first time (Rosey), great to meet het at last and what a lovely lady.

It was a £30 freezeout and after all the stress of the last few days I was knocking back the JD's and coke :-) This consequently helped me loosen up at the table. With over 100 runners I donked off a lot of my chips early. The changing point was when I got dealt AA utg. With 1400 chips left from a 3000 starting stack and the blinds 100/200 I just limped hoping to win a big pot. The guy opposite me who had been fairly aggressive pushed all-in and got an instant call from the guy to his left. Brill! I push and find myself up against JT and 88. My aces hold up and I am back in it. Manage to steal quite a few pots including one hilarious hand when it is folded to me in the sb, I have 52 off and push. Guy in the BB says I call and flips over A2, flop comes 54A, turn is a Q and river a 3 :-) Split pot and my image is shot to pieces! Finally end up on the final three tables and I get dealt 66 in the SB. With blinds at 600/1200 the button raises to 5000, I think he is stealing and push, he thinks and calls, he flips over 99 and with no help from the board I am gone.

Saturday get to the poker bunker at 1 with Mr Dests and Flowerpot, Prettyace gets there with Murray, our only male member of the team. We finally get going at about 3 o'clock. We have 8350 chips, the leaders start with about 20k in chips but with a 40 min clock there was plenty of time to build up.

I started really well, quickly building up to about 13k in chips. Then I get dealt JJ in ep. Make it 600 to go with blinds at 100/200. Get 2 callers and the flop comes Q high, fire out 1000 chips and get one caller. At this point I should have let it go but the guy I was up against had been playing a lot of pots. Turn brings a blank and I check. He bets 1k and I call, river is another blank, I check again, he bets 1k again and I call, he turns over AQ. Awful, awful play from me and I am back where I started.

At this point we had lost Murray and with top 3 scores counting we had to do well to have any chance. Totally card dead for a long time only managing to pick up small pots. Then we lost Flowerpot, she was very ul. getting them in with AT on a flop of ATQ only for her opponent to flip over KJ.
Prettyace was then moved to my table being in the BB when I was on the button so stealing opportunities gone. We didn't really have a chance in the team event by now but didn't want to do it to a friend. Next couple of hours very card dead, actually the best I saw all day in about 8 hours of play was JJ twice. Manage to stay alive till about midnight when I got moved tables. With 18k left and the blinds at 2000/4000 I push with Q9, two callers TT and AK and I am out in about 34th. Pretty managed to finish in 18th which was great. Did enjoy it but a bit difficult with other things on my mind. Was nice to meet some friendly faces again though.

Don't know when next post will be but will probably take laptop with me to Spain, not a lot to do where I am going.

A good week and Dreamteam

Hello all, bit late posting but been working 12 hour days all weekend :-(.

Had a good week on the poker. Three FT's but no wins.

Managed another FT in the Dreamteam, this takes me to 4 FT's and 10 top 30 finishes out of 19 weeks, really pleased with that. I am now 7th on the individual leaderboard but with only one week left I cannot win it. Had a few bad weeks on the trot which lost me any chance but am very proud of myself to have done so well in it. Also managed a cash in the $16k.

Also achieved two FT's in the 2k, finishing 3rd and 5th. This has always been my favourite mtt due to the good results I have had in it. It also seems to be getting more popular and there was a £3.5k prizepool last night.

This Thursday going up to London as it is the Dreamteam live final on Saturday. Meeting up with 'The Hunnies' Friday night and going to play a £30 FO at the Western Club. Should be great fun and then the final on Saturday. We are about halfway down the leaderboard so have some work to do but really looking forward to it as it was a great day last year and a good laugh.

Devon County and a nice result

Went to Devon County show with Jazz on Thursday. She is only two so can be a real handful at shows as she gets quite excited, but she was very well behaved considering that it is a really busy show. She got 6th which I was happy with.

Got back Thursday night feeling really tired. Had to play Dreamteam, not a good night, very card dead and bust out quite early. Opened up Sun and decided to register for the 6k gtd. God knows why as I was really tired and should have just gone to bed. After an hour or so I am just bored and tired as getting no hands and getting nowhere fast. Then this hand happens -

Terrible fishy play from me, lol and very lucky but I just wanted to go to bed :-)

So, with a decent stack I decide to see how I get on. Scrape into the money, top 30. Always at the bottom of the field but manage to steal myself into the top 20. Decide at this point that as 11th pays the same as 20th I am gonna go on a stealing spree and either bust or hit FT with a stack. Start pushing every few hands and find myself on the FT as chipleader after being 20th of 20, lol.

Final table starts badly, I have become trigger happy with all the stealing and get caught out a couple of times. Anyway, finally end up in the last three. Lots of stealing going on from the button and I push with 22, BB calls with K9, K on flop and I am 3rd for £600. Very happy with that though considering that I just wanted to go to bed :-) :-)

Got a few days off this week so hopefully can get some nice results.

Things looking good

Had a good couple of evenings with two FT's.

Friday night managed 6th in the £1.5k gtd, was going great on the FT when dealt AKc. Blinds 600/1200, utg limps and I make it 8000, utg then pushes, alarm bells going off in my head that he has AA but decide to call just to find out, doh!! He has AA and I am crippled. Out next hand.

Saturday night make FT again in £1.5k gtd, get down to 4 left and I am bottom in chips, TT on the button and I push, sb calls with AQ, A on turn and I am 4th. Happy though and feeling really confident with my game at the moment.

Today's mission is to qualify for the 40k, just finished 2nd in an stt for it so doubled my money, haven't played the 40k for a long time so fancy giving it a go.

Back at work Tuesday but got Thursday off as I am taking my two year old filly to Devon County show. I bred her myself and she is called Jazz, hopefully she can do well in the youngstock in hand class, would mean more than ten FT's :-) Just need to pray for nice weather now!

April, running bad and a tiny light at the end of the tunnel

Hi all, bit late with an update, could get really boring, lol.

April wasn't a great month, had a win which was nice but overall a disappointing month, probably about £400 down for the month.

The reason for this is a combination of running bad and consequently playing bad. When your decent hands keep getting outdrawn or running into the nuts I find that I then don't really care and stick them all in with hands like TT just to prove how bad I am running, lol. Crazy!
Also still playing when tired, stupid!

I truly believe to be a long term winning player you have to have first and foremost, discipline. Something that I know I lack at times and I must work on this.

May started awful, couldn't do a thing right. Then on Saturday I won the £1500 gtd on Sun :-) Was about average chips with 20 left, 10 get paid and with 13 left everyone tightened right up. Took advantage of this by stealing a lot of hands and went to the FT with a nice chipstack.
On the FT one key hand was when I had 55, raised from LP and BB (about same stack as me) calls. Flop comes 5x6, all spades. I bet half the pot and he calls, turn is a low blank, I fire again and he calls, at this point I am getting increasingly worried about the flopped flush. River brings another 6, nice! I push, he calls with JJ and I am chip leader by quite a way ;-)

Soon find myself heads up against ClintonO who has been my nemesis in the DreamTeam games. I am aware that he won't make it easy for me. Very stupidly raise with A2, he pushes and I call, he has AQ and I double him up. With about the same stacks I find 88 in the sb, I raise and he pushes. Hope that I am ahead and call, he has A6, no help from the board and I have won.

Last night though back to my normal run. After the win I feel confident, play a £40k sat first. I have QJ in the sb, everyone limps and I make up. Flop comes Qd6dQc, I bet, one caller, turn is Ad, I bet again, he calls, worried about flush when Jd falls on the river! I bet he raises me all in, I call instantly, lol, and he turns over KdTd, didn't see that coming!

Two more mtt's, run KK into AA after 3 minutes in one, lol, and get done by set over set in the other.

Things can only get better.

Had an awful night last night :-( Felt that I was playing well but just kept getting done over by clueless muppets or just getting outdrawn and picking wrong spots to steal.

Played the $16k on BF - slow start, finally got going and with 28 left it is folded to me in the SB, I have T8 and have been utterly card dead for half an hour, no chances to steal so with 7 BB's left I push, BB calls instantly with AK....doh!

Played the 12k on Sun, was going really well. Blinds 50/100 and I raise to 300 with QQ, guy next to me instantly pushes with 2015 chips, call to find he has A9!! Ace on the turn and I am struggling, never got back into it.

Then played the $3.5k gtd on Sun, doing ok but not great, end up going out on a coinflip, my AK vs TT.

Next was the $5k gtd on Sun, very slow start, double up with QQ vs ............K3, lol. Then next hand get dealt KK. Raise 3 x BB and a guy who has me covered pushes all in. Call and he has AK, ace on the river!

Oh and played a few $50 sixpaks on BF, ran my decent hands either into better hands or idiots who always seem to hit with their rags.

Sometimes I really hate this game.

Off out tonight, nice chinese restaurant then gonna go play a live freezeout at the local casino, at least if they outdraw me I can pour a drink over their heads!!! lol

When not to play poker!

Hello all,

Not a great deal to report, been running a bit bad and playing bad as well. Managed a 7th in the 4k which was nice but nothing much else. Problem is that I have been playing when tired, I am just going through the motions. I am tired and start to believe that my TT is good after a raise and a reraise, looool. It is as if I just don't care and don't believe that the other players have a hand. Also, when I am tired I find the early stages of an mtt really boring. Stupid to throw money away and I really need to get a hold on this.

Brilliant result for one of the Hunnies the other day in the $100k on Mansion. Prettyace won it for a very nice $24k. Must be such a buzz to get a result like that, well done hunnie!!

I was thinking that I would like to qualify for the WSOP this year but it doesn't really come at a good time so I have decided that I would really like to qualify for Singapore with Betfair this year. Mr Dests spent some of his childhood living there and would love to go back so when the sats start I shall be trying my hardest.

Another well done to Mr G (UkGatsby), for taking a couple of big runner mtt's down, he consistantly does well and is defo on top of his game!

Did I really win an mtt on Friday????

Worked nights Saturday and Sunday but couldn't wait to get back to the poker on Monday. In all honesty I was still tired and shouldn't have played, made some silly plays and marginal calls and deserved to lose.
Last night was in a much better frame of mind, firstly played the 1.5k gtd on Sun, after two ridiculous outdraws I am out. Right, let's play the 12k, hmm, card dead and when I do get hands I am outdrawn again. And on it went, the 2k, lost two races when slight favourite, the next 1.5k lose another race.

I must not play so many mtt's though, sometimes it just isn't gonna be your night and it is time to shut the laptop down. Shall be back playing tonight though with a fresh mind and some hope of some luck!!

A win!!!!!!!

Hello all, sorry for the lack of posts but haven't been playing much in April. First few days was on nightshift then went up to my parents up in Cumbria for easter weekend. Had a great time, haven't been there for over 12 months and was great to catch up with old friends, must say though that I am defininitely a soft southerner now though, it was bloody cold!

Anyway, back to the poker on Tuesday and nothing of note, getting done by beats mostly :-( Dreamteam was terrible on Thursday, never got going and when down to 15oo chips with blinds at 100/200 I find TT in LP. Early raiser and I push, he insta calls with QJ! A Q on flop and I am done. Currently third in the individual leaderboard but a lot slowly catching so can't afford to have any more bad weeks.

Last night I decided to play the $16k on BF and the 2k on Sun. $16k started slowly, after first hour I was below starting stack. Not long after break I managed to double up with TT and was back in it. Got dealt KJ in the BB, three limpers so I check. Flop comes K7J. I check, one guy bets 200, next guy raises to 800 and I reraise to 1500. Early guy folds and second guy calls, turn is a queen, I jam and am called by KQ, jeez. River is a queen, lol, and I am out. Funny thing is that the KQ guy is a well known BF forumite who when playing against a few months ago decided to give me stick at a table after my JJ cracked his QQ after a low flop. Funny how these guys are the quickest to tell people how they should play but don't seem to practice what they preach. Fair enough that he was probably committed but my re-reraise after the flop should make him think he is behind.

Meanwhile, I am ticking along nicely in the 2k gtd. Easily make the FT in about 5th position. Absolutely card dead for a long time and just having to fold fold fold while the others are knocking each other out. With five left I am bottom and decide I am gonna go for it. Get a couple of nice hands and go on a stealing mission, soon find myself chip leader with three left :-) The other two seem to be looking to guarantee 2nd as quite a jump in the prizepool so I just continue to steal the blinds without much resistance. Get dealt 77 in the BB and the sb pushes, I call he has A5, gets no help and we are heads up! I had a 4 to 1 chip advantage and felt I could win. A few hands in and I get A6, he is on sb and raises, I reraise, he pushes and I have to call. He has 55, flop brings a 6 and I have won!! A nice payout of £696 and really pleased to have finished one off. Have won this one a couple of times now and defo one of my lucky mtt's!!!

On nights for the next couple of nights so no poker but looking forward to getting back to it on Monday.

Well, after a terrible February, March had to pick up and it did!

Firstly, last night I was in the mpp final on Betfair, 1st prize a Range Rover Sport and nice prizes for the top 40. Only 132 runners and I felt that I could at least win something. Decided to play the $16k along side this.

Mpp final started great and within half an hour I had doubled my starting stack. Got dealt AKh in early position and raised. Guy in late position reraises me, he has half my stack and I decide that I am happy to gamble to build up a nice stack and feel a lot more comfortable. I reraise him all in and he calls. He has QQ, two hearts on the flop, but turn and river a blank and I am back to starting stack. Card dead for a while when I get dealt JJ. Playing 1900 chips with blinds at 100/200, I raise to 500. One caller flop comes 8T3. I feel that I am ahead, don't think he has a bigger pair due to the way he has been playing. I decide to push not wanting the turn to give him a high card. He calls with TT :-( Nice set! Doh! Oh well, no prize for me.

Meanwhile in the $16k I have been going along nicely. Manage to steal a few pots with blinds at 200/400 and 300/600 and I am in the top ten. Not had any luck in this mtt in the past, normally going out near the bubble. But before I know it bubble has burst and we are pushing for the FT. Get dealt KK, blinds at 500/1000 ( I think) and I raise to 2700, BB calls and flop comes 9 high. I push and he calls with Q9, turn brings a queen and I am about to launch the laptop! Thankfully though the river brings a king :-) Make final table but have a terrible spell when I am raising with mid pairs only to get reraised all in and having to fold. With about 4 x BB's left I push with A5. One caller, (Mr Q9 man), and he has AK. Know that I am beaten, type 'gg' then I hit a miracle 5 on the river! Manage to hold it together and find myself heads up. Oppo has 200,000 chips to my 50,000. Get dealt AT in the BB, he pushes, I call. He has QJ and hits two jacks. Over the moon with 2nd though which paid $3200 and have finally beaten my jinx in the $16k :-)

Rest of March was a lot better, eight FT's, three of these were in Badbeat/Dreamteam which I was really happy with. Also won $1400 for rakeback freeroll and $3200 in $16k.

So have ended the month at about £2k in profit :-) If only it could be like this every month!!! Hoping that I can carry on the same in April!! Also would like to mention the £2 mtt thread on Betfair forum, it has a great atmosphere, everyone cheers each other on and it makes you try that little bit harder, well done UkGatsby :-)

Dests is back!

Hello all, well, Cheltenham ended ok, Katchit and Wichita Lineman got me out of trouble and ended just a little bit down.

Thursday was Hunnies night and I made the FT again for the second week in a row!!!! Fifth this time but really happy and have now jumped up to 6th in the indidvidual leaderboard which I am really happy with!!

Worked 12hr shifts Sat, Sun and Mon, how exciting it is to be taking the lid of a reactor, lol, not!

Got home Monday just in time to play the Sun $3500 freeroll which is put on via the site I get my rake from. Great value, you only need to rake $200 a month to qualify. I haven't been playing my Sun account lately as I had such a bad February on it and was down to peanuts in my account. Refuse to deposit so was hoping for a decent result last night. 37 runners and 5 paid. At no point was I in the top five for the majority of it and I reached the FT 9th of ten.

Was getting no cards and just had to keep pushing with rags to stay ahead of the blinds. Finally got a decent stack and I look down to find KK in front of me with 2 all-ins in front of me. Instant call and I am up against AQ and AQ. Brilliant!! Until an ace falls on the river!

Now very low and I go on tilt mode, pushing with ATC and finally double up with JJ :-) Calm down again and eventually find myself heads up against Fishpoo from the forum. We are about even but he is slowly getting the upper hand. I finally double up against him with A8 vs his preflop push with low cards. After an epic battle heads up and a lot of pushing preflop, he goes all in, I decide to call with K9, hoping to be ahead as I believed he would push with ATC. He has 22, I hit a king and it is over, I am $1400 richer and my sun account is back in business :-)

Back on the up!!

Well, poker is a funny game, after a terrible February things are finally picking up.

Wednesday night stuck to my guns and played two mtt's on crypto, the 1.5k gtd and the 2k gtd, went out of the 2k with AQ vs KJ but managed another FT on the 1.5k, ending up in fifth which I was more than happy with.

Thursday night is hunnies night with the dreamteam/badbeat game on BF. Got off to a great start with AQ vs KQ on a Q high flop and was going well until about 40 left. Blinds 400/800 and I have roughly 2500 chips left, been getting no hands whatsoever and realise I can't let the blinds go through again, push UTG with K6, lol, and get one caller with A7, hit a king and double up! Next hand in the BB I pick up TT, button raises, I push and he calls with 77, win that and suddenly I am back in it with 13000 chips. Sonn find myself in the money but the game then becomes very tight. No hands and end up doing lots and lots of stealing to stay in it. Eventually make the FT in 4th. Tight play again on FT and with some well timed steals and a couple of hands make it to the last four without hardly showing a hand. With the blinds at 4000/8000 though and an average stack of about 50000 it was getting increasingly difficult. Dealt 22 in the BB and raise to 20000 wanting to just pick up the blinds, BB pushes and I have roughly 23000 left, can't pass, pray that I may be racing and call, he has 77 and I am out in 4th after nearly 5 hours!!!

Really enjoyed it though and feel that my confidence is coming back :-) Great cheerleading from Prettyace and UkGatsby helped too!!

Working nights Fri, Sat and Sun nights so a little break from poker then the rest of next week off so bring on some more poker and Cheltenham!!!!

A new strategy

Well, I think I must be addicted to this bloody game!!! 24hrs after saying I was having a break and I end up playing.

Steve, (my better half), was playing and gonna watch footy too. Now, I have never believed the rigged theories but I had totally lost confidence when playing my Sun and BF accounts (stupid I know!) so decided to fire up a very old Will Hill account that I have and discipline myself to playing just two mtt's, the 1.5k gtd and the 2k gtd. Also decided to not even open the BF forum or MSN as I find that I do not concentrate on my game enough.

The 1.5k gtd went ok but lost a couple of big pots with KK vs K9 and AK vs 88. Here we go again I thought. Then played the 2k, got off to a great start and before I know there are 20 left with 10 paid. Now after so many bubbles I could not believe how tight I was playing, I was just happy to blind my way onto the FT. Luckily quite a few went for it and before I know it I am on the FT! Eighth in chips but find JJ and AT doubles me up. Never got near the top but managed to finish in 4th place for £200 which was great.

So, gonna keep playing my WH account for the moment and keep the same discipline of choosing few games and concentrating, less posting on the forum and hopefully I can pick up where I left it in January :-)

Thanks to Mr G for the mention on his blog, he is a top bloke and a friend. Cheltenham next week and as I am nightshift all weekend I have next week off!! I am quite a follower of NH racing and shall hopefully pick a few winners, should be good fun and hopefully we can run a bit of a fun competition for the £2 thread.

Finally, a great shame to see MC has given up poker, but when you are constantly banging your head against a brick wall what is the point of punishing yourself further. I know he is a good player and will miss his brilliant funny posts.
Also hope Canaryboy is having a fab time in Thailand, he deserves it and will be just the break he needs.

Played four mtt's

12k satellite

played no hands and get KK, blinds 15/30, guy raises to 120, one caller, I reraise to 300, both call, flop 836, I bet 360, guy puts me all in, I call, he has A6!!, turn is an ace, lol.

1.5k gtd on Sun

Was going great guns in top ten, blinds 100/200, get dealt 88, call a raise to 400, flop 478, checked to me, bet 1200, guy pushes, I call, he has 66 and hits 6 on turn, would have given me chip lead. Did I need to get involved?? Well, sick of struggling in these late on and then bubbling.

2k gtd on Sun

Totally card dead, find KJc in mid pos, push to unopened pot, get called by A9. Yep, not a great play with that hand but I had to do something, guy who called did so for 90% of his chips.

$2k gtd on BF

Once again get off to a great start, make one awful call with AT to ss all in but besides that never out of top ten, then

SS goes all in with 59s, call with 99, he hit flush.
QQ, bet pot preflop, 2 callers, low flop two diamonds, I push, guy had 9Td and hits flush.

Then when down to short, push with AT, called by QJ and he hits jack.

Bored yet?????

Just had enough, need to play hunnies games but that will be it for the moment, just sick of it :-)

A little break

Well, things went from bad to worse, lol. On nightshift for the next four nights so will do me good to have a break and come back for March. Have been advised to drop down stakes, problem is I have no respect for the low stakes games :-(. I don't think I play at high stakes and I know that I have done well in them. Going to play less games though, and not play when tired which I know affects my game immensely!

Can't wait for summer though, spent all day Saturday at the stables with my horses, got loads done and realised that this is my true hobby not poker, poker is great when you get home early as not a lot of riding to be done of an evening at this time of year. Once the nights draw out I shall be spending evenings out riding. One bonus of poker though is that in the past it helps fund the horses. Guess that is another reason I don't want to drop down, even though I enjoy playing poker, I play primarily to pay for nice extras :-)

Mr G shall be in my seat for the Hunnies this week, I know he will do me proud and I'm sure he loves all the female attention ;-)

Well, please let February end. Can't recall having a worse month, ever!! Had a couple of FT's but had so many near bubbles too. Playing mtt's where top ten get paid and I have had 11th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th!!!! The last one was my KK all in preflop against guy who had slightly more chips than me who called with AQ. We were lying 2nd and 3rd at time.

Then decided to play some 6paks and unbelievable outdraws, one after the other!!

Now, nobody likes to hear someones bad luck tales but I have never been running like this before. I have always tried to not let poker get to me, after all it is just a game, but I can honestly say that the laptop has nearly been thrown a couple of times :-(

Have had to reload in Betfair, lol, and Sun account getting low. About £1000 down for the month. I haven't tilted and I am playing my same game, which is falling way short I guess. Just need a decent result I guess.

Oh well, that is my rant over, there are much worse things in life than bloody poker, just need to reassess and try and recover, BRING ON MARCH!!!!!!!!!!

Running bad

Can't win a thing, Betfair account down £250 and sun account £300.

Thing is it is the first time since September, I am either playing when tired and I know that I am playing like a donkey or I am running bad ie AA vs KK and AA vs 99 tonight. Can't win any 50/50's either. Need to re focus and not play when tired, I know it won't last but it can be so bloody frustrating!!!

Dreamteam went ok last night, finished 25th but out of money. Don't know what it is but I seem to be finishing just out of money far too much, lol.

My birthday on Sunday so gonna go out and have a few drinks (lots) tomorrow night, meal and then the casino probably, need to let my hair down :-)

Hopefully things will pick up starting on Sunday, qualified for a $5k freeroll on sun for finishing 7th in GTD monthly leaderboard, only 30 in so hopefully my luck will change.

Well, January was a winning month, profit at around the £1100 mark which is very nice. Made 10 Final tables, which put me 7th on the Sun mtt leaderboard. Very pleased with this as it also enters me onto a 30 runner $5k freeroll.

One problem though - no wins!! Been close a few times but had no luck when it comes down to the make or break hands. Had a very frustrating week. Been playing a few of the Betfair $16k gtd mtts. 18 get paid and I have finished 22nd, 21st and 29th. Got really cheesed off with this and consequently my game suffered in other games. Got nightshift for the next three nights and I think the enforced poker break will do me good.

Meanwhile 'The Hunnies' didn't get to play this week due to the fact that Betfair had to cancel the game as some of the players got a 2500 starting stack and the rest got a 1500 starting stack, looooooooool. What a shambles!! After last weeks priblem with blind levels hopefully Betfair can get this sorted as it is getting slightly annoying!

Oh well, lovely nightshift for me :-(

Nearly a win :-(

Played a couple of games last night, first one was the 4k where I lasted to just past the first break. All folded to the button who raises 3 x BB, I'm in the BB, put him on a steal and push with KJ, he calls with 66 and game over, doh!!!

Also played the 10k on Betfair, first level, blinds 10/20 and get QQ, raise to 80 and get two callers, flop comes 4h 6s 6h, I bet 180, both call, turn is another rag, no heart, I bet 300, one caller and next guy pushes, don't like it one bit but I stupidly call, other guys calls leaving me 360 chips, first guy has KhTh and second guy has 67 off. River is a heart and I'm crippled, grrrr. Push with the rest of my chips with AJh and called by AQ, no help on board and I'm out.

Meanwhile I am playing the 2k on Sun, no hands for the first hour and I am down to 1200 chips with blinds of 150/300. Get dealt JJ and push, called by KK but hit a J so back in it. Then I had a dream of a run, got some nice cards and cruised onto FT with a chip lead of 12k over second. Decided to sit tight for a while and let the short stacks knock each other out. Pick up a couple of nice hands and keep building my stack. With four left I am still in the lead, just. Get AQ and raise, sb pushes (who has shown a lot of bluffs and has also hit some awful outdraws on others on table when playing awful hands) and four handed I like my AQ and call. He has KQ, great, but a K on flop and I am down to 8000 chips, grrr, muppet!!!! Get a little angry and start to push most hands and build back up to a decent stack knocking out the 4th with AK on the way.

With 3 left I get dealt KQ on the button, I push and am called by the BB with A6, no help and I am out in 3rd :-( Nice profit but I would really like a win!!!!!

Never mind, it must be on it's way soon.

A great evening

Wednesday night decided to play the 4k and 2k as normal plus on Tues evening I had won a seat for the 12k which I don't often play.

Didn't last long in the 4k, I play this tourney to try and get a big stack in the first 45 mins or bust out, with so many runners and a quick clock I like to get going quickly. Crashed and burned within the first half hour.

Started the 12k at 8pm and the 2k at 8.30pm. In the 12k I picked up a few small pots but didn't really get involved in too may big pots for the 1st hour.

In the 2k I got off to a flier, won a couple of big pots and when the cards dried up I could afford a bit of time. Unfortunetly I was pretty card dead for quite a while but I eventually managed to make the FT by stealing a lot of pots. Made the FT as the short stack and with the blinds threatening to eat me up I found AQ in late position. Pushed only to find that the sb had JJ who called. With a jack on the flop that was the end of me but pleased to have made another FT.

Meanwhile in the 12k I was struggling, in the bottom 10 and just picking up some blinds or small pots to keep me in it. Slowly but surely though the field narrowed and I got past the bubble. At this point I was more than happy as it had been such a struggle to keep my head above water. With only 3xBB left I pushed with QJ only to be called by KK. Flop came 89x, I had outs! Turn brought a jack and river another jack!!! Brilliant, I am still there. Managed to creep into the top 20. Before I knew it we were down to 11 and I was bottom. It didn't help that I was on the same table as the big stack and only five handed. Found QQ which doubled me up and we have made the FT. Won a couple of pots with AK, lost three players and I was then the short stack. All folded to me in the sb, I have KJ and push. BB has 99 and calls, damn! But flop brings a jack :-) Turn a blank and river brings a 9, nooooooooooo!!!! Out. Win that pot and it takes me to 3rd in chips. Never mind, pick up a nice £516 which for my £7.50 stake is a nice nights work.

Really happy with my play at moment though. Consistently making Ft's, just need a WIN!!

Thursday night and it is hunnies night, unfortunately it was also Mr Dests birthday so thought it would be a bit rude to play, had family coming round for a meal. Luckily UkGatsby had kindly agreed to play for me. He finished a fantastic 18th scoring a nice 800 points, with over 200 runners and him not getting dealt one pair all game he did fantastic. He can be a hunnie anytime he wants ;-) Thanks again for reading.

Playing live and loony women!!!!!!

Been going ok online, made a couple of final tables but can't make them pay enough, always in 7th, 8th. Played Dreamteam again on Thursday, handed out a couple of badbeats and managed 21st which I was quite happy with but should have been higher.

Played Friday night like a complete donkey and decided that I needed to get out and go and play a live game.
Local Grosvenor had a £15 freezeout so me and Mr Dests went down to play. 46 runners and we end up sat next to each other on same table! Totally card dead for first 45 minutes but was quite amusing to watch this crazy lady play. Don't think that she played a lot before. One hand a guy to her left makes it 500 to go, blinds 50/100, she calls everyone else folds. Flop come 585, guy goes all in. She ponders for a while and then says 'How do you know I don't have a 5'. His answer is that he doesnt think she would call such a big raise with a 5 unless she had maybe a pair. 'Hmm, well, I might have a 5!', and then folds. Five minutes later and a guy who is shortstacked makes it 350 utg. She calls, rest fold. Flop comes Kxx. He bets 400, she calls. Turn is a rag, he fires all in for about 500, she calls, he flips over AQ? She flips over A7??? River is a 7 and off he goes muttering about her.

Couple of hands later I get 99, first hand I have had. I raise to 400, all fold except her who calls. The flop come J67, I bet 500 hoping that I am ahead and she calls. Turn is a 3, decide to have another go as I believe I am ahead, she calls. At this point I am thinking that she has me beat, haven't got a clue where I am. River is a T and I check, she checks and we flip our hands over. When I see she has AT I nearly exploded, lol. Mr Dests grabbed hold of my leg as I can be a bit fiery with a drink inside me and tells me to keep calm, lol. She just smiles and says 'ohh, have I won?' The whole table is staring at her and she is just smiling!! OMG!! I have been beamed into 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' This woman is a sandwich short of a picnic, looooooool.

Anyway, I am down to 1100 and it is my BB, blinds 100/200. Four limpers including my loony friend and I turn over 99. Fire all in, all fold except her who calls. I say to the woman on my right 'This could be amusing' She flips over QQ!! Right, ok, she is limping with QQ. Flop comes 9T4, haha, got ya!!!!! Turn is an A, river is a Q! Oh well, that is the end of that then. But how do you play people like that! Apparently a couple of hands later she is asking the table if a flush beats 4 of a kind, hehe.

Play a bit of blackjack and lose £50 when a cash table starts up, NLTH £1/£2. Buy in for £50 and after a couple of hours I am £100 up so happy with that and time for home.

One interesting hand on the FT of the freezeout was when a guy pushed with 44, guy with KJ calls, flop J4J, turn a 9, river a J! So, live is just as rigged as online ;-)

Do enjoy playing live and really need to make the effort to go more often. The Grosvenor/Blue Square tour is in Plymouth in September so going to try and qualify for it, would be a great experience to play.

The Calling Station

I don't normally play during the day but today fancied a game so registered for a £20 sixpak.

First level get QQ, raise to 100, 2 callers, flop K58, both check so I bet 150, both call, turn is a blank, both check again, I check, river is a blank, both check again? Hmm, am I ahead? I stick in a bet of 250, both call! One has K2, the other A8, looool.

Right, I'm down to 500 now. Start to get a little bit tilty, every bet I make is called by trash, problem is I'm bluffing off my stack. I now have 280 chips left and I am angry, these guys are calling with middle pair, bottom pair, they are not folding! So, I decide to play like a rock and try and get back in it. First decent hand I get is AK, I just call, no point raising, they are calling with anything. Flop comes K high :-). I bet, two call, turn is a rag, I bet, two call, river is another rag, no straights or flushes on board and I push for my final 90 ish chips. They both call with 78 and KT :-).

Few hands later I am in BB with 7T, three limpers including my favourite two calling stations. Flop come 689 rainbow :-) Right, let's see you keep calling my bets now. I bet 100 and sure enough my two friends call. Turn is a K, I bet 150 and they both call, river a jack, I bet 250, one folds but the other calls with A6 :-) I am now back up to 1500 chips, lol. I ended up 2nd after a nice heads up battle against one of the better players on the table.

So, I was quite proud of myself that I didn't tilt completely. In the past I would get angry at calling stations and end up on tilt but I really enjoyed that game. One thing I did notice is NEVER go all in against a calling station. It is, as if they have come back to the real world and can't press the fold button fast enough, lol.

Happy Belated New Year!!!!!

Happy New Year all!!

Had a great start to the New Year, 1st week over £1000 up with 3 FT's and a 12th in the 12k. But I just can't finish one off, hopefully it will come soon.

Unfortunately, my six pack game has crashed and burned, I am currently on super super tilt, just can't win a race, put my chips in ahead and get outdrawn time after time, gonna leave them alone for a bit as getting no enjoyment whatsoever from playing them.

Badbeat dream team started again last night and the hunnies are back!! With a 2000 starting stack and a 20 min clock it is one hell of a slow structure :-( Got off to a bad start and before I knew it was down to 1200 chips. Decided to slow down and just wait for hands, with 194 runners and only the top 100 scoring points I needed to win some chips!! Got a nice double up with QQ and I was off and running. Felt that I was playing well and with 17 left I get KQc in the BB. Button makes raise to 5000 and I push for 14000 thinking that he was on a steal. He dwells for a while and then makes the call with A8. No improvement and I am out. With another team member Flowerpot finishing 8th and Nifer finishing 46th we made some good points :-)

My goals for 2007 are to continue to improve in my game and make a nice profit. Would like to qualify for a big live tournament and win some mtt's instead of just making FT's, lol.

A quiet month so far

Hi all. Sorry for the lack of posts. Work has been crazy, so busy and pissing me off immensely. We have a new boss who wants everything done yesterday, is trying to cancel xmas (I am nightshift New Years Eve ***weep***) and is thoroughly getting everyone down. I so wish I was good enough at poker to make a living from it, never mind :-(

Poker has been steady, had a couple of nice paydays but not been playing as much as so busy. Played the BF Team reindeer thing with 'The Hunnies' but we did no good and gave up. The points structure was terrible and in the end Mr Dests was playing it for me as I couldn't be bothered. Well done to Dibble for being part of the winning team.

Trying to get sorted for xmas as have all family coming down on Saturday. Will be nice to relax and spend time with them. Will post before the new year with my goals for 2007. Hope you all have a fantastic xmas and see you soon!

Well, November was a great month. Concentrated on GTD mtt's and managed 10 final tables. Really happy with this but a shame that I couldn't finish any of them off. Should finish about third on the Sun leaderboard which also puts me in a $5k freeroll for the top 30 finishers.

My game has become much more consistent. In the past I have gone through phases of playing when I can't really be bothered to concentrate but play regardless, ending up losing. With this leaderboard to focus on it has helped my play immensely.

Crypto have released a new version of their software and I must say that I do like it. Not really played on Betfair, with the daily posts on forum regarding connection problems, games freezing and the big pause between hands I do not feel that I can play there. BUT, I will be playing the christmas team event, The Hunnies are trying to win the EPT seats and I believe that we have just a good a chance as anyone else. Should be fun and hopefully won't have too many software problems.

Well, made another FT tonight in the GTD mtt's. Add that to one last night and I have made six this month. Only finished 7th tonight after being chip leader. Lost a couple of key pots and then pushed with TT to a min raise. He called with AK, A on turn and that was that. Still happy though as my game seems to be going well. Waiting for Sunpoker to update their GTD mtt FT leaderboard. Hopefully I have jumped a few places. Just need to finish one off now.

Been a while

Sorry for not updating sooner, seem to be working all the time which at the moment is no fun whatsoever.

On the poker front things have been quite good. My quest for a star turned into a quest for a fin which I did get playing the £10 sixpaks. Decided to move up to the £20 ones, thought the standard would be better and was quite shocked to find that they are full of fish!! Won a couple but got outdrawn on numerous ones :-( therefore the fin has gone for the moment. I'll soon have it back though ;-)

Been playing on Sunpoker, just not the games I want to play on Betfair at the moment but I am sure this will change with time. Have been playing the GTD mtt's and so far have had a 3rd and 5th in the £2k gtd and a 3rd in the 4k gtd. Sunpoker have a promotion which is a leaderboard for FT finishes in the gtd mtt's. Doing ok in this so that is what I am concentrating on for the rest of November.

Did play the online BAPT main event on Betfair, there were some great added prizes on offer. The structure was 10k starting chips and a 30 min clock. Quite a slow structure for online and patience was the key. Was doing quite well, even got up to 11th at one point, but with no cards and some serious loony raisers on my table I ended up 43rd for 4 and a 1/2 hours work :-( Oh and I had a stinking headache. Was a good game though and hats off to Betfair for putting this on. Once things pick up and the site is a bit more user friendly I am sure I shall be playing on there regulary again.

Everyone back from Singapore now. Well done to Mr D (Dibble) for cashing in an event and for going deep in the main event, also to Zelda and a big WD to Highstack for winning the last event. Thoroughly deserved, a really nice guy and hope that everything is ok at home for him.

New Betfair and my quest for a star

Hello all. Well Betfair changed over to their new software this week. I got to play it a bit earlier than some as Betfair put everyone who played in the Badbeat games in a preview freeroll.
This caused a bit of aggro on the forum as a lot of regular players were not included, I could understand their point though.

Downloaded the new software and the games began. It is not the most user friendly of software but I slowly got the hang of it. Was doing well until I ran my set of sixes into the big stacks set of sevens, lol.
I have since only played the software a few times but Mr Dests has been playing every night, took him forever to work out how to raise, how to register etc. but he was persevering until he had two games shut down on him and two where he could not play. I hope Betafair can sort these probs out as I am sure in the long term the site will be worth playing.

Meanwhile, I also have a newish account on Sunpoker. Now my SS stats for my Betfair account are BAD. My stt game left a lot to be desired and I would play a lot while in mtt's to relieve boredom. Anyway, they were awful and when Sharkscope came out I had them disabled to save my embarrassment!!! So, with this new account it has given me the kick up the backside to improve my single table game. At the moment it is going well. I have started at low stakes, $10 and £10 sixpaks and my goal is to get a star!!! So, this is my target for the next few weeks.

Badbeat Live Final

Went to london on Thursday as me and Mr Dests decided to make a weekend of it.
Had a great night in London Thursday night, nice meal and a few drinks, Friday we spent the day doing the sights. Got back to the hotel to get ready for the evening, met Deejay, Ariston, Mandylou, PQ and Dubai in the hotel bar then we were off into London again for the evening to meet Mr Dests brother and sister-in-law for a meal and a few drinks. Got back to hotel and off to bed as wanted to stay fresh for the Saturday, unlike some who went off to karaoke till the early hours ;-)

Saturday morning had a walk around Canary Wharf and then back to the hotel to meet up with Nifer and Jon. Mr Dests got directions for the city bunker where the game was being held so off we walked only to get completely lost! Finally got to the place after a bit of fun involving a taxi and losing Mr Dests, lol.

Met up with our two other lovely team members Prettyace and Verapera. The scoring for the event was 104 players, 1st gets 104 points, last - 1 point with the top three scores counting. We decided that it would be best just to play our own game but keeping an eye out for each other to check when we lost our first player so that we could adjust accordingly if needed.

We started with 11660 chips which was just above average. I found out my table number and sat down. There was only one other guy who had sat down one away to my right. He introduced himself 'Hi, I'm Norman, pleased to meet you'. I looked at him and said 'Hi, I'm Rachel', I looked at him and thought I know this man? LOL - It was Norman Pace from Hale and Pace! He was a lovely guy but didn't last long as he started quite short stacked.

The table filled up and I started to wonder 'what the hell am I doing here!!'
I had two of the A Team (chip leaders) to my left who Ariston had told me were really good players!, Strokeit, Toshiwonka and Punterz that I knew of. Anyway we were soon off and running. First session I had QQ and 99 which I won small pots with and by the break I had roughly 15000 chips.
Second session and I was really card dead, managed to steal a couple of pots and the only hand of note was when I had QT of diamonds in the SB, with no raises I limped and the BB checked, the flop came Ad Xd Xd. I managed to get the BB to call my bets on the turn and river and won a nice pot. I then lost a few chips after raising UTG with AQ (I was very card dead :-( )
only to be called and reraised therefore I had to fold.
After the second break the blinds were starting to bite, I wasn't getting any cards and whenever I tried to steal I would run into someone with a hand :-( With the blinds at 600/1200 I got A8 in the SB and pushed for 8000 chips, the BB called me blind (he had lots of chips) with 73, lol. Luckily I doubled up.
Next round and the blinds went through me again without winning a pot. With about 7500 chips left I find AK off on the button and push. Punterz, (who can yak for England btw) is in the BB and after a think calls with J8. Flop comes Xh Xh Xh, great, I have the king of hearts, turn a blank, then the river - a jack :-( Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! Gutted!
I am the first hunnie out in 49th place :-( I felt that Punterz would call as it did look like a steal and he just about had the odds, he did apologise and I slunk away.

I checked on the other hunnies and went outside for a ciggie only for Nifer to come out as she had just gone too. She was getting short and tried a steal only to run into QQ - very unlucky. As she is telling me Vera comes out looking extremely peeved off. After getting her chips in with JJ after hitting her third jack on the flop Mr Dealem gets a runner runner straight to send her out :-( With only Prettyace left and still 40 runners the 'Hunnies' dream of going to Singapore is over - damn!!!!
Pretty did fantastic to finish in the top 25 but she deserved much more for her commitment to this competition.

I think we can be proud of ourselves though!!

We then proceeded to get drunk, (well I did!), and had a great evening. Was great to meet all the forumites again who are all lovely people and fantastic to play with 'The Hunnies'. I feel that I have made some great friends and can't wait to meet up again if only for some more Zelda cuddles!!!

Well, had quite a good night last night, 3rd in the Flashmob again, (knocked out by Mr G again), wd to Mr G though. Also cashed in a couple of stt's. Have been feeling really bad with a heavy cold (woman flu) but think I have turned the corner.

Had a nice day today, off work so went to see one of my three horses who is on loan to Bicton college for the winter. After sorting the other two out, home, tea and time for some poker.

Started with the 4k gtd, was doing nicely until dealt QQ, guy raised 3xBB, he had played some awful hands so decided to push, got called by guy with 1000 chips less than me, he has A8, flop A8x. Oh well, then get dealt AK, push for my final 1000, called by A7, he hits str8 on river.

Decided to then play the 8.30pm £20 mtt and what a fish fest, AK all in called by K7 and A6?
Eventually so card dead that I ended up pushing with rags in the BB hoping for two live cards but it wasn't to be.

One thing I have noticed though is that when I used to play the £20 mtt's there was quite a good quality of play, now it feels like playing a £2 mtt.....strange.

Anyway, don't want to moan too much ;-) Off to London on Thursday for the weekend. Playing in the badbeat live final on Saturday for our team 'The Hunnies'. Little bit nervous as it is a team comp and there is 6 seats to Singapore up for grabs. There are going to be some very good players there but I believe that we have every chance........after all, we are women ;-)

Well, hello all and welcome!! I decided to give this blog stuff a go as everyone else seems to have one.

I play poker as a bit of fun really and some extra money does come in handy (when I manage to win). My true passion is my horses but I do enjoy poker too. Hopefully I can post some interesting stuff, (probably not!!), and do pop in from time to time.
